Human DiscoveryMAP™ version 1.0

DiscoveryMAP is RBM's most comprehensive quantitative immunoassay service available, containing 189 analytes. The panel represents the culmination of 10 years of assay development and biomarker expertise. It contains cytokines, chemokines, metabolic markers, hormones, growth factors, tissue remodeling proteins, angiogenesis markers, acute phase reactants, kidney toxicity markers as well as other important serum proteins. This assay is designed for researchers who need to better understand their compound’s efficacy, safety profile and biological activity.

Adiponectin
Swiss Prot: Q15848

A protein hormone produced and secreted exclusively by adipocytes (fat cells) that regulates the metabolism of lipids and glucose. Adiponectin influences the body's response to insulin and has anti-inflammatory effects on the cells lining the walls of blood vessels. High blood levels of adiponectin are associated with a reduced risk of heart attack. Low levels of adiponectin are found in people who are obese (and who are at increased risk of a heart attack).
